How Many Cardiologists Can I Reach in Texas? | Community | Database Providers

We sell a cardiac imaging product and want to run a Texas-only campaign. Before I ask for a quote, roughly how many cardiologists are actually reachable by email there? I need to know if the segment is big enough to justify a campaign at all.

Our verified cardiologist coverage runs to roughly 8,200 records across the United States, and Texas is one of the three deepest states in that set — enough volume to run a readable state-only campaign, though not enough to run several in parallel. Ask for the exact Texas count before you build the plan, because it moves as the file is recompiled. The gap between that number and the licensed cardiologist population in Texas is worth understanding, because it changes how you segment. A large share of cardiologists work inside hospital systems where the practice email is gatekept and never appears in any commercial dataset. Many practise under a group entity rather than their own name. Some hold multiple affiliations, which produces duplicates that have to be resolved down to one record. What remains after all of that is the reachable set — and it is always smaller than the licence roll. For a cardiac imaging product specifically, the practical move is to segment on practice affiliation rather than title alone. A cardiologist in an independent or small-group practice has meaningfully more purchasing influence over imaging equipment than one inside a large hospital system, where the decision sits with a procurement committee and a radiology director. Filtering on that split typically produces a smaller list that performs better, and it usually means adding hospital administrators and radiology leads as a second segment rather than trying to reach the physician directly. Tell us the practice-size band and whether you want the hospital-side contacts included, and we will return the exact Texas count plus a free sample drawn from that segment so you can run it through your own verification before committing.

Healthcare outreach in the US: CAN-SPAM governs the send, but if your messaging touches patient data or clinical claims, FDA promotional rules and your own regulatory review apply on top. Physician contact data is business contact information and is not protected health information, so HIPAA does not apply to the list itself — but it does apply to anything a recipient sends back to you.
